The Dynamic in Vitro Blood Brain Barrier
(DIV-BBB) is an easily configurable and monitoring system which measures
the integrity of the BBB. This system uses a Dynamic model, which
continuously pumps nutrients through the models lumenal
space. This adds shear stress on the endothelial cells in the model, and
allows these cells to have a higher degree of differentiation and stronger
tight junctions between each endothelial cell. Thus the DIV-BBB exemplifies
an in vitro model that more accurately describes the in vivo conditions of
the BBB.

This cartridges small and versatile design, with it’s built in electrodes
and hollow fibers makes the DIV-BBB Cartridge a significant and cost

The Trans Epithelial Electrical Resistance (TEER) measurement provides a
quick and easy evaluation of the integrity of the Blood-Brain Barrier
model.

•Pulsatile Quad Pump
The Quad Pump is an integral component of the Flocel systems that mimics
the pulsating action of a real heart, and helps induce the Dynamic
conditions of this system.

•Gas-permeable Tubing
The Tubing is an essential component of the Dynamic BBB model, as it is the
throughway for the essential nutrients to be pumped in and out of the
DIV-BBB cartridge.
